The Department of Religious Studies, University on the Niger (UniNiger), Umunya, has called on scholars, clergy and professionals to submit research contributions for a Festschrift celebrating the 60th birthday of the Bishop on the Niger, Rt. Rev. Dr. Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo.

The commemorative volume, titled “Mission, Scholarship, Transformation and Healthcare in the Anglican Diocese on the Niger: Celebrating 60 Years of Impactful Existence,” will explore Nwokolo’s contributions to Christian mission, education, healthcare, scholarship and community transformation.

According to the organisers, the publication will provide a scholarly platform for documenting and examining his years of service as a church leader, scholar and institution builder, including his leadership of the Diocese on the Niger and his role as Founder and Chancellor of the University on the Niger.

The call is open to academics, clergy, researchers and professionals across relevant disciplines whose contributions align with the theme of the Festschrift.

Contributors are invited to submit either an abstract for consideration or a full research paper for possible inclusion in the commemorative volume.

Those submitting abstracts are encouraged to indicate their proposed topic, central argument or research focus, while authors submitting full papers should provide complete scholarly manuscripts suitable for academic review.

The Festschrift is expected to provide a lasting academic record of Nwokolo’s years of service and the institutions and initiatives associated with his ministry, particularly in the areas of mission, education, healthcare and community development.

Scholars, clergy and professionals interested in contributing are encouraged to act promptly, obtain the submission guidelines and submit their work within the stipulated deadline.

The commemorative volume is being prepared ahead of Bishop Nwokolo’s 60th birthday.
