Ada Igwe Campaign Council Engages Abatete Women at August Meeting

The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Princess Barr. (Mrs.) Helen Ifeoma Mbakwe (Ada Igwe), was represented by a delegation of her Campaign Council, led by its Director-General, Chief F. G. N. Okoye, at the August meeting of the Abatete Women.

The delegation, which also included the Anambra State Chairman of the Zenith Labour Party, High Chief Uche Ugwoji (Osuofia), joined the women in what was a colourful gathering marked by fellowship and community engagement.

Addressing the women, High Chief Uche Ugwoji commended them for their impressive turnout and commitment to the annual gathering. He noted that Princess Helen Mbakwe would have loved to be physically present, describing her as a woman who derives great joy from identifying with, connecting with, and uplifting women.

He described Ada Igwe as one of Abatete’s own and encouraged the women to continue standing with her, noting that such encouragement would further inspire her lifelong commitment to women empowerment and community development.

Speaking on behalf of the campaign council, the Director-General, Chief F. G. N. Okoye, explained that the visit was not intended as a political campaign but rather as an opportunity to sustain the cordial relationship Princess Helen Mbakwe has built with the women and people of Abatete over the years.

According to him, had Ada Igwe been in the country, she would have personally attended the gathering to identify with the women. He therefore urged them to continue reciprocating the goodwill and affection she has consistently shown to the community. Chief Okoye further described her as a woman whose experience, competence, and leadership qualities have prepared her for effective representation of Anambra Central Senatorial District.

Speaking on behalf of the President-General of the Abatete Women, Pharm. Lady Adaeze Omaliko, the President-General of Abatete Town, High Chief Chima Ezigbo Nwadike, expressed appreciation to the delegation for honouring the women with their presence on behalf of Princess Helen Mbakwe.

He described Ada Igwe as a woman of remarkable character and substance whose contributions to humanity and unwavering commitment to community development have earned her widespread admiration. He added that the Abatete women, together with the wider Abatete community, hold her in high esteem and wished her success in her political aspiration.

The visit further strengthened the longstanding relationship between Princess Helen Mbakwe and the Abatete community, reflecting her continued commitment to maintaining close ties with the grassroots despite being outside the country.
