All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) aspirant for Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Dr. Chris Nwokedi, popularly known as Akaekpuchionwa on Sunday visited three Catholic parishes in Ogbaru Local Government Area to celebrate Mother’s Sunday with Catholic mothers.

Dr. Nwokedi’s visits took him to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Atani; St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church; and St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Church, where he joined parishioners for Mass and felicitated with the Catholic Women Organization (CWO).

Addressing the congregations, Nwokedi expressed deep appreciation for the role of mothers in the Church and in his political journey.

He singled out mothers who have consistently prayed for him, describing a mother’s place as irreplaceable. “There is nothing a child does for the mother that is too much.

“Money one gives to his mother definitely comes back to him. Even breastfeeding is unpayable,” he said, adding that the award presented to him will spur him to do more.

The House of Representatives aspirant also used the opportunity to restate his political ambition before the congregations.

He reminded eligible voters of the need to obtain their party membership registration and voter cards ahead of the APGA primary election and the general election, stressing that active participation begins with registration.

Clerics at the parishes Rev. Monsignor Theophilus Odukwe, Rev. Fr. Livinus Elo, and Rev. Fr. Onuchukwu Vincent commended Nwokedi for his consistency and doggedness in his political journey.

They urged him to ensure quality representation for Ogbaru Federal Constituency if elected and to uphold Christian values in public service.

The priests offered prayers for God’s guidance, protection, wisdom, and direction upon him, asking that his aspirations align with the good of the people he seeks to represent.

A highpoint of the day was the presentation of a Patron Award to Dr. Nwokedi by the Catholic Women Organization of St. Charles Lwanga Parish, New Haven.

The award, conferred months earlier during a CWO activity in the parish, was formally presented during the Mother’s Sunday celebration, alongside the cutting of the Mother’s Sunday cake.
