Enugu, Nigeria: Wednesday, January 2, 2026: By collected statistics and other pieces of evidence in the possession of the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (https://intersociety-ng.org), it is our finding that leaders of Nigeria since June 2015 have gravely compromised the country’s sovereignty, threatened its unity and undermined the religious and constitutional secularism and liberties upon which the country was lettered, founded and structured. These, the leaders of Nigeria have done by systematically plunging or dangerously working to plunge the country into “ethno-religiously polarized state of nature” or balkanized Sultanate Caliphate. That is to say that the mass killing of Christians and destruction or burning down of their churches across the country especially in the Middle-Belt, North-East, Southern Kaduna, Kebbi, Katsina, Ondo and Eha-Amufu part of Enugu State are found to be widespread, systematically targeted, well-coordinated and clearly known to leaders of Nigeria since June 2015 till date especially those that held sway at the country’s Presidency from May 29, 2015 to May 29, 2023; and others that continued from May 29, 2023 till date.
By our collected statistics and other pieces of evidence, therefore, it is not only that the Nigerian leaders since then are fully aware of the ongoing systematic and well-coordinated anti-Christian butcheries, but they are also found to have at one time or the other conspired, instigated, aided and abetted, or directly or vicariously involved or participated. Totality of these is to the extent that the referenced Nigerian leaders systematized and divided the anti-Christian violent campaigns in Nigeria into different phases of execution, using three “Structural, Cultural and Physical Violence dimensions”-especially the Nigerian Government policy of forceful settlement of Fulani Herdsmen among indigenous Christian communities and their populations-under different pretexts or disguises including “RUGA”, “Pastoralist Grazing Reserves”, “Pastoralist Ranching Settlements” or “Nomadic Jihadism”.
By our collected statistics and other pieces of evidence, it is also independently found that the number of forests and bush locations in Nigeria especially in the Rainforest regions across the country, majorly populated by indigenous Christians of Old Middle-Belt including Southern Kaduna as well as Adamawa and Taraba and the Southward parts of the country-is exclusively known to leaders of Nigeria since June 2015; arising from the reported late 2015 Nigerian Government Forest Mapping, reportedly carried out by the Nigerian Army and chaired by a Southern general. The alleged exercise was allegedly dubbed “Forest Mapping for Effective Boko Haram Counterinsurgency Operations”, later reportedly declassified few years ago and put into public domain by the country’s Ministries of Pastoralist Livestock Affairs and Agriculture and Food Security and reportedly referenced as “11,129 Existing Forests in Nigeria”.
If the above disclosures are true, our informed question is: who leaked the documented statistics on number of Forests in Nigeria to Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen and Jihadist Fulani Bandits and their regionally assembled allies-with which untracked and unchecked incursions have made and continued to be made into the country’s southward and middle-belt forests and bush locations by these Islamic jihadists? This is more so when such incursions have independently been monitored and found to have majorly started in the first quarter of 2016 and strangely coincided with different “internal security operations” of the Nigerian Military and the country’s Joint Security Taskforces under different controversial names such as “Operation Python Dance” and “Operation Whirl Wind”, etc.
Truthfully, if not for President Trump and his US Government’s timely intervention, Christians in Nigeria are inches away from obliteration in widespread Convert to Islam or Die Anti-Christian campaigns by the country’s Islamic terror jihadists-drawn from state actor and non-state actor establishments. From our collected statistics and other pieces of evidence, it is our grand finding that the situation of Christians in Nigeria especially in the North has become so grave that the mainstream Nigerian Christian leaders have unrepentantly wobbled and are presently in their worst era of integrity test in defense of Christians and their sacred places of worship and learning; living homes and sources of livelihood. This is to the extent that apart from these leading Christian leaders having abandoned Jesus Christ and Christianity and turning themselves into biblical Judases, they are widely believed to be inches away from decamping from Christianity to radical Islamism in line with the Nigerian Islamic Jihadists’ Convert to Islam or Die jihadist campaigns. From our collected statistics and other pieces of evidence, it is independently found that but for President Trump, the turning point of the Nigeria’s mainstream Christian leaders including “Business Pastors and Priests”, which was inches away, was a wave of defections from Christianity to Radical Islamism, a replica of maddening political defections by Nigeria’s harlotry, zero ideological and political integrity challenged opposition political figures; to the extent that it was just a matter of who would be the first to defect.
Distinguished Persons On Religious Freedom In 2025 In Nigeria Awards: Based on our collected statistics and other pieces of evidence assembled over the years or since 2009, especially those of the just ended 2025 on egregious and heinous crimes against Christians and their sacred places of worship and learning-widespread and systematically perpetrated by both state actors and non-state actors holding sway in Nigeria’s socio-cultural and political environments, the Board and Management of the InterSociety have duly considered the following internationally respected persons, authorities and bodies for distinguished awards according to their respective noble roles on the promotion and protection of Religious Freedom especially such efforts geared toward Discontinuation of Genocidal Attacks by Islamic Jihadists against Christians in Nigeria or any part thereof. The above is to the extent that despite the Dec 29 and Dec 31, 2025 Islamic jihadist attacks resulting in the loss of no fewer than 21 rural Christian lives (14 in Hong County of Adamawa State by ISWAP and seven in Vwang District of Jos South County of Plateau State by Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen), it is our firm position that not less than 600 Christian lives and dozens of churches were saved through sustained international religious freedom voicing and diplomatic pressures, likewise, effective preventive and pre-emptive measures. In our list of Distinguished Persons and their respective roles, Nigeria’s Islamic Cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi was enlisted not as a defender of Nigerian Christians but because of the bitter truth he told regarding the ongoing Convert to Islam or Die jihadist campaigns against Christians by Nigeria’s Islamic terror jihadists and their political and security establishments’ instigators, aiders and abettors-centrally aimed at obliterating Christians and erasing traces of Christianity-carefully and systematically planned in phases and stages.
President Donald Trump was therefore designated the most Distinguished Defender of Nigerian Christians in 2025, especially against the backdrop of his recent interventions that saved at least 600 Lay Christian lives and lives of dozens of priests or pastors especially during the 2025 Christmas and the 2026 New Year Periods; during which dozens of churches and Christian study centers were also spared from Jihadist attacks. The Governments of the United States and Canada were also designated the most Christian Religion Friendly and Defending Countries in 2025-especially in Nigeria. The State of Israel was delisted despite having openly declared its support for persecuted Christians in Nigeria. This is due to its poor handling of Palestinian civilians especially since the Oct 7, 2023 Islamic Jihadists’ invasion and attack.
The International Distinguished Persons, Authorities and Bodies’ Designations for supporting Nigeria’s Christian Religious Freedom in 2025 also saw the US Rep Riley Moore and Sen Teddy Cruz designated Distinguished Defenders of Nigerian Christians in 2025, in which Catholic Bishops Anagbe of Makurdi and Onoga of Nsukka Catholic Dioceses and Pastor Dachomo Ezekiel of Plateau State and Leader of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Okoh of the Onitsha Christ Holy Church (OAIC Branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria) were designated Most Outspoken, Fearless and Uncompromised Defenders of Nigerian Christians in 2025. Controversially tried, convicted and jailed Prince Nnamdi Kanu was also designated Major Victim of Trado-Judeo-Christian Self-Defense in Nigeria in 2025 while the Sahara Reporters was named Most Fearless and Uncompromised Media in Nigeria in 2025. The Truth-Nigeria and its Juud Saul was named Most Domestically Outstanding Cracking Investigators on Killing of Christians in Nigeria’s Plateau, Benue, Taraba and Southern Kaduna in 2025 while Mike Arnold became the Most Resistant of Nigerian rooted Forbidden Fruit and Resilient International Christian Protection Campaigner for Nigerian Christians in 2025. Lawyer Emmanuel Ogebe was also named the Intersociety’s Friend of the Year (2025) on Defense of Middle-Belt and North-East Christians.
The recipients were so named or designated to encourage them to do more especially by ceaselessly beaming their advocacy, diplomatic and governmental searchlights on Nigeria’s Jihadist Fulani Herdsmen and Jihadist Fulani Bandits-the most widespread and atrocious Islamic terror groups in Nigeria-presently hiding in the forests of Christian Middle-Belt including Niger, Kwara and Kogi; and the indigenous Christian forests of the South-East, the South-South, the South-West, the North-West (Southern Kaduna and Kebbi) and the North-East especially Taraba State.
