In a remarkable act of compassion and community service, Emperror Chris Baywood Ibe  has donated 1,050 bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, and cartons of seasoning cubes to over 1,000 indigent individuals, comprising 50 families from 25 communities. across Awgu Local Government Area.

Baywood emphasized that the gesture was not politically motivated but rather a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, whose legacy of generosity continues to inspire his family.

“As you all know, today marks the beginning of my late mother’s funeral,” he said. “With the support of my siblings, we are doing this because it was in her nature to feed the poor. She would often take from us, her children, just to give to those in need. This gesture is also for those who couldn’t attend the funeral—so they too can feel a part of her farewell. That’s why we provided transportation to bring you all here.”
