Governor Chukwuma Soludo has called on academics to engage in community service, beyond teaching and research.

The Governor who was speaking in Awka at the Higher Education Stakeholders Forum, a Tertiary Education Stakeholders Summit for Soludo, tasked the academics on building the capacity to multitask in order to develop the society.

Governor Soludo further encouraged the academics to continue on the path of investing their brilliant ideas in developing Anambra state, assuring of his commitment to building the education sector.

The Keynote speaker at the event, Barr. Osita Chidoka, who spoke on “Education And Development In Nigeria, Why Anambra Must Stay The Course”, revealed that the world is about to change and Governor Soludo understands it, stating that success is not luck, but focus and persistence, as Anambra has greatly excelled under Governor Soludo.

The Acting Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Professor Kate Omenugha, who pointed out that the summit is an opportunity for soul searching, stated that education and politics are interwoven, which is why the academics need to play their roles as leaders of thought in building for posterity.

The theme for the summit is; “Education and Sustainable Development in Nigeria: Why Anambra State Must Remain Focused”.
