Youths of Anambra State have staged a peaceful march in Awka capital city to show their solidarity and support to Professor Chukwuma Soludo-led Government in the state.
During a peaceful rally in Awka, last weekend, the youth wing of the Anambra State Association of Town Union (ASATU) countered calls for the disbandment of Udo Ga-Achi security outfit in the state.

The group, wielding placards of different inscriptions and chants of solidarity song, marched from Aroma junction to the state government, now known as Light House, Awka.
President-General of ASATU Youths, Comrade Ken Okoli, who spoke at Aroma, and government House, respectively, condemned the recent humiliation of a serving female youth corps member by the Udo Ga-AChi security outfit, but commended the government for giving instant justice, and improving the security architecture of the state.
“What we came today is not to do campaign. But we are here to inform Ndi Anambra that Operation Udo Ga Chi is doing well in securing the state and we commend them . It is a solidarity rally in support of the state government and its security outfit, Udo Ga Chi”

“You all are aware of the current humiliation meted on a female NYSC serving member by Udo Ga Chi which is a combination of all security personnels in Anambra state. We condemn the assaults and we are calling on those in charge to ensure that the 8 persons under police custody face the law.
“We also found out that our brothers in politics are calling for the disbandment of Agunechema. We would not use the fact that some few persons committed an offence not socially acceptable and disband the whole security working architecture. Those politicians protesting wants to use the opportunity to import hooligans and thugs during November 8 election to rig elections and we stand against it”.
“This solidarity rally is to make our voices be heard. Udo Ga- AChi should remain so that they can carry out their security operations. There is peace in Anambra currently, most of theses crimes like kidnapping and robbery have stopped. They should concentrate on what they will do for Ndi Anambra and we will continue to support Governor Soludo.”
Addressing the protesters, Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, frowned at the way some politicians in the state call for disbandment of a security outfit that have brought succour to the people.

Ezeajughi commended the youths and students for their bold display of support, calling on them to join hands with the present government to ensure peace, security and continued development of the state.
