Over 280 retired police officers in South-South Nigeria have rejected the Contributory Pension Scheme, demanding a Police Pension Board and transition to the Defined Benefit Scheme.

They accused senior officers of denying them rightful entitlements, lamenting that some earn as low as N18,000 monthly compared to military counterparts receiving over N400,000.

PENCOM DG Omolola Oloworaran, sent by President Tinubu, admitted the disparity and pledged reforms within two months to address their grievances.
