ABS Foundation Visits Mokwa, Offers Support to Flood Victims

The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation team visited Mokwa, Niger State, to commiserate with victims of the recent flood disaster that claimed hundreds of lives and displaced over 3,000 households.

The team began its visit at Anguwan Hausawa, the epicentre of the devastation, where homes were swept away and families left homeless. They also visited the IDP camp and met with Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) officials to assess urgent needs and coordinate support efforts.

At Mokwa General Hospital, the team interacted with survivors, including children and pregnant women receiving treatment. One survivor, Rukayat Audu, shared how she narrowly escaped but lost her two children to the flood.

The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Lile of Mokwa, where chiefs praised the Foundation’s solidarity.

Regional Director Musa Aliyu announced that the Foundation is providing direct financial aid and relief to survivors and caregivers, and urged other organizations to support the people of Mokwa.
