Diocese Of Niger Delta West: Synod Asks Bayelsa State To Pay Attention To Bayelsa International Airport

The Diocese of Niger Delta West Anglican Communion has at it’s
2nd Session of the 9th Synod at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke’s Nembe Bayelsa State
Bayelsa State called on the Bayelsa State government to look into the poor operation of the Bayelsa International Airport.

The diocesan synod also called for attention to the uncompleted Bayelsa State 5-star hotel and flooding situation of the State during the rainy season.

Synod applauded the Bayelsa State Government for enacting the anti-grazing law and prayed for the implementation of these laws to checkmate the nefarious and inhumane activities of some headsmen which interrupts the peace of our communities.

The synod took far reaching resolutions concerning the Anglican Communion, the Priesthood, Bayelsa State and the affairs of the Nation.

Examining the theme of the Synod which is the ” Rivers of Greater Possibilities”, Genesis 18:14; Jer. 32:27; Luke 1.37. It stressed that to enjoy the ceaseless flow of Rivers of greater Possibilities, the faithful must open the doors of their hearts and life for Christ.

The Synod maintained that to attain such a state, positive thinking, faith in action and agreeable mind set must be imbibed.

In a 9 point resolution signed by his Lordship Right- Reverend Nixon Enekeme, the Diocesan Bishop, and Synod Clerical Secretary Reverend Tari Atasi lamented the suffering of people and hardship in the land of plenty noting that fear, hopelessness and despair rule the day in place of good governance and development.

Synod commended the efforts of the Chief Samuel Ogbuku led NDDC for the efforts in lighting up the Niger Delta with Solar lights as well as rehabilitating the Ogbia-Nembe road. All law enforcement agencies were called upon to arrest and prosecute those caught vandalizing the solar lights.

His Excellency Senator Douyi Diri – Executive Governor of Bayelsa State and his deputy – Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo for good governance and some laudable projects in the State such as the new commissioners and judges quarters, new roads and bridges, educational programs and the expected gas turbine project.

Synod drew the attention of the State Government to the poor operation of the Bayelsa State International Airport, the uncompleted Bayelsa State 5-star hotel and flooding situation of the State during raining season.
