Senate Confirms Five INEC Resident Electoral Commissioners
The Senate on Wednesday confirmed the appointments of five Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Those confirmed include Umar Garba (Kano), Sa’ad Idris (Bauchi), Chukwemeka Ibeziako (Anambra), Umar Mukhtar (Borno), and Dr. Johnson Sinkiem (Bayelsa).
The confirmation followed the presentation of a report by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on INEC, Sen. Simon Lalong, who said the nominees were found qualified based on their experience, credentials, and integrity.
