Police, Military Kill Three Notorious Armed Robbers in Abuja Shootout

A coordinated operation involving the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, the military, and local vigilantes has resulted in the killing of three notorious armed robbers during a midnight gunfight in Abuja. Three other gang members sustained gunshot injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment under security watch. According to the FCT Police Command, the operation was launched following a distress call received by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Dei-Dei ‘A’ Division at 11:50 p.m. on February 12, 2025, reporting an ongoing violent robbery in Filin-Dabo village. Acting swiftly, the DPO mobilized a joint security team comprising: The FCT Police Anti-Kidnapping Unit The 102 Battalion, Guards Brigade The Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) Local vigilante groups Upon arriving at the crime scene, security operatives encountered a six-man gang attempting to flee into the bushes. The robbers ambushed the security team, prompting a fierce gun battle. The superior firepower of the security forces overwhelmed the criminals, leading to the fatal shooting of three suspects. They were later confirmed dead at Kubwa General Hospital.
