2023: Igbo group sets up c’ttee on presidential aspirants

A group on the aegis of Coalition of South East Youth leaders (COSEY) has embarked on a course to shop for credible presidential candidate of Igbo extraction for 2023 Presidential Polls.

According to the group, a committee known as Igbo Presidential Actualisation Committee has been set up to move round the entire zone in search of suitable aspirants.

The president general of the group, GoodLuck Egwu and Secretary, Kanice Igwe, in a statement said adequate arrangements have been made for the committee to source men and women of proven integrities.

The statement further stated that as a purely non-partisan committee, it will ensure South East presents its best for the office of the president.

It noted that south east has prominent sons and daughters who have proven themselves in their various fields of endeavours.

“We shall leave no stone unturned to actualise Igbo Presidency in 2023. The time is ripe for us to come together and make it real. In a matter of days, we shall establish contact with governors from south east and prominent groups. All hands must be deck”.

The group stated that the committee has also been mandated to equally reach out to prominent politicians across other regions.

“We have concluded arrangement to write Bola Tinubu, Aminu Tanbuwal, Atiku Abubakar, Nasir el Rufai and the President of Arewa consultative forum, Shettinia Yarima to drop their perceived ambition and give support to the Igbo Presidential projects”.
