2023 Election: Over 2,300 PDP, APC members defect to APGA in Anambra

No fewer than 2,300 various opposition parties in Ogbaru Local Government Areahave defected to the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) party.
The decampees drew from People’s Democratic party (PDP), All Progressive Grand Congress (APC), and Labour Party, respectively. They stormed Onu- Iyi Haven, Atani, a residence of the candidate contesting for Ogbaru Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu where he hosted 16 wards Chairmen, Secretaries and Party stakeholders.
Addressing the mammoth APGA loyalties, Hon. Sir. Ifeanyichukwu E. S. Nnajiaku and Hon. Linus Uhum who spoke on behalf of the defectors noted that they were delighted to join the Party, expressing that their joining APGA was not by accident, but because they saw the Party as an Igbo movement and ideology.
They also testified that APGA party is a Party that operate with truth, equity, justice and fairness. They commended Hon. Awogu who they described as ‘the Power House’ of the Party in Ogbaru LG and said they tested and trusted him as the most qualified candidate that would represent Ogbaru in the Federal House of Representatives.
The defectors pledged loyalty and obedient to the Party rules and regulations and assured to contribute their quota to the victory and vision of the party.
Commenting, Hon. Awogu who received the decampees alongside the Ogbaru LG APGA Chairman, Hon. Sampson Nnamdi Ifijika eulogized them, saying “they made a better option by leaving their party and join APGA.”
He reminded them of the need to work hard in the Party. ” You people are at the right place. APGA party is a movement. As you are joining APGA, you are joining a winning team. So, what you will do is to register in your various wards and join the party campaign train” Said Hon. Awogu.
Hon. Awogu who later spoke to newsmen reiterated his driven passion to champion youth & women empowerment, eradicate poverty, promote education for women and children, Health care, ecological degradation and infrastructural development, saying that Ogbaru LG developmental stride is his priority and vision come 2023.
He said the message to the wards Chairmen and Secretaries is a message of APGA all the way. “The message is for them to ensure that APGA wins the State House of Assembly, Ogbaru Federal House of Representives, and Anambra North Senatorial seat in the forthcoming 2023 general election.”
Also speaking, the State APGA leader, Chief Norbert Obi lauded the wards Chairmen, Secretaries and APGA Stakeholders in Ogbaru LG for their zeal for APGA Party, reminding them to ensure that APGA emerges victorious at all levels.
Other Party stalwarts who spoke at the event include Anambra North zonal Chairman of the party and Osodieme campaign director, Chief Chinedu Nnatuanya and Anambra State Commissioner for information, Sir. Paul Nwosu amongst other.
