2023: Awogu Picks Federal House of Representatives Form, Promises Women, Youths new lease of life

The incumbent Transition Committee  Chairman of Ogbaru LGA of Anambra State, Comrade John Arinzechukwu Awogu has finally succumbed to the yearning of his Ogbaru LG Constituency by picking expression of interest and nomination form to contest Federal House of Representatives in the forthcoming general election in Nigeria.

Our political correspondent gathered that the decision of the Ogbaru born political mahogany was in line with much persuasion and Clarion calls from various group ranging from Ogbaru LG women and youths, religion Organisation, Civil society Organisation, traditional rulers, professional bodies who had been directly and indirectly urging him to declare Interest for the seat  of Federal House of Representatives.

Comrade Awogu picked expression of interest  and nomination form in company of over 15 women group drawing from various 16  communities in the Ogbaru LG, Civil society Organisation, religion Organisation and Nollywood Actors.

They led him to All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Secretariat Office in Abuja, where he declared his intentions to represent Ogbaru in the Federal House of Representatives.

He reassured that his election would give the people a new lease of life, revealing that women and youths interest are in the center of his agenda.

” I will put food on the table of more households in the Ogbaru LG. I have pulled ten households out of poverty already and I intend to create a millionaire per household in the Ogbaru LG. The success experiment as the Transition Council Chairman of Ogbaru LG gives me confidence that more Ogbaru house holds will be pulled out of poverty in line with our approach to human capacity building” Comrade Awogu noted.

The women group under the aegis of Ogbaru Women Initiatives For Arinzechukwu Awogu who gathered in their number chanting solidarity songs with various written inscription, Arinzechukwu Awogu is our choice, if Arinzechukwu Awogu could do it as Ogbaru LG Chairman, he could do it in Abuja, Arinzechukwu Awogu, our hope and our hero.

Expressing their delights, some women who spoke to newsmen hinted that Comrade Awogu had proved himself to take Ogbaru LGA to the next level through his administrative prowess as Transition Council Chairman of Ogbaru LG.

They applauded Awogu as the only Transition Council Chairman who they said recognizes women rights in governance, reassuring him their unalloyed support and pledged to mobilize more women during the election.

Also speaking, the Vice President of the group, Mrs. Nkemdilim Rebecca Ndubueze disclosed that Awogu’s acceptancing to contest for Federal House of Representative has united all Ogbaru women, saying that they are out to support Comrade Awogu.
