UNIZIK SUG Hosts Creativity Summit With Industry Experts

The Student Union Government Assistant Secretary, Comrade Omeje U. Queendalyne, has organized a creativity program for students, featuring recognizing dignitaries from the creative industry. The occasion started with an opening prayer, a comedy show, and a spoken word performance by Matthew Mary.

The high table was graced by esteemed guests, including Prof. Makodi Biereenu-Nnabugwu (Dean of Student Affairs), Chibueze Onwuzuligbo (Sub-Dean of Student Affairs), Okwuchuchu Okonkwo (CEO of Majesty Estate and Investment), and other industry leaders.

The first speaker, Johnbosco Chisom of Bosco Clothing, discussed styles, sales, strategy, and marketing feedback. He shared his entrepreneurial journey, emphasizing the importance of knowing one’s worth, seeking feedback, and investing in oneself.

The second speaker, Mr. Chukwubike Onumajuru, a legal expert, highlighted the significance of sustainability, security, and successful engagement with legal teams in business. He advised students to prioritize compliance and noted that “prevention is cheaper than cure.”

A panel discussion, anchored by Oluebube MaryJane, explored “Ideation to Execution: An Eye into the Real Estate.” The panel featured industry experts who provided insightful answers to students’ questions and addressed real-world challenges in building sustainable ventures.

The keynote speaker, Okwuchuchu Okonkwo, made a notable contribution by steering the conversation toward agricultural development. He introduced the concept of greenhouse technology and emphasised its role in boosting Nigeria’s economy. According to him, while not everyone may thrive in real estate, many young Nigerians can find profitable opportunities in agriculture if they embrace innovation and commitment.

The event concluded with an award presentation to individuals who have made meaningful contributions to society. Attendees were treated to refreshments, and the Igbo Department of the university thrilled the audience with a colourful cultural performance that added vibrance to the closing moments of the summit.Students commended the organisers for providing a platform that encouraged self-discovery, innovation, and practical learning, urging that more such events be introduced regularly to bridge the gap between academia and real-world industries.
