UNIZIK ACTING VC HITS THE GROUND RUNNING, LIGHTS UP UNIZIK IN 48 HOURS

On assumption of office as the Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof. Joseph Ifeanyi Ikechebelu was quite clear on the direction, he wants to navigate UNIZIK for the attainment of his vision for the University. He stated he was eager to create a “happy productive staff and happy progressive students” by pursuing justice and fairness in the University. To achieve this, the Ag. VC rolled out what he called the short term goal which is five-fold and clearly captured in the following targets. Beautify UNIZIK Light-Up UNIZIK Excellent UNIZIK Digitize UNIZIK Secure UNIZIKIn a dramatic term, under forty eight hours of assumption of office, the Acting Vice-Chancellor immediately confronted the monster of darkness besieging UNIZIK for quite a long time.

The University had been disconnected since three weeks before his assumption of office. He, however, made sure that he engaged the power supply company EEDC and power supply was effectively restored to the University. True to his words, and within so short a time, UNIZIK is lighted up, thus having the light-up UNIZIK target fulfilled in record time.Overwhelmed with the prompt response of EEDC in restoring power supply to the University, the Acting Vice-Chancellor expressed his joy in seeing that the staff will be happy working in their offices with increased Productivity and in a convivial environment. He equally expressed delight that the students of the University would have a better learning environment as power supply is key to sustaining virtually all the activities in the University. The Ag. Vice-Chancellor however appealed to the staff and students to co-operate with him in ensuring an incremental positive change in the University.
