Minister of Works, David Umahi, has revoked the N35 billion contract awarded to Levant Construction Ltd for the reconstruction of Section 1 (Benin–Imasabor) of the Benin-Sapele-Warri Road over non-performance.

Umahi announced the decision on Wednesday in Abuja, citing the contractor’s failure to remobilise to site despite multiple warnings and a final termination notice.

He ordered the Permanent Secretary to formalize the contract termination, recover government funds, and involve the EFCC if necessary.

Meanwhile, Umahi praised the governors of Edo and Delta states for intervening in critical sections of the road and commended other contractors for improved efforts.
