President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Ikye Orikpo from Delta State as the chairman of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, as part of a broader announcement of board chairpersons for federal agencies. A statement issued on Thursday by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed Orikpo’s inclusion among the newly announced board leaders. The presidency also clarified discrepancies in the initial list of appointments. It noted that Hon. Duro Meseko from Kogi State is the chairman of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute, correcting what appeared to be a duplication. Additionally, Hon. Yahaya Bello Wurno from Sokoto, not Ambassador Wurno, was confirmed as the chairman of the Sokoto-Rima River Basin Development Authority. Expressing regret for the errors, the presidency reassured the public of its commitment to accuracy in such matters. Among other significant appointments, Tinubu approved Abdullahi Ganduje as chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Magnus Abe for the National Agency for the Great Green Wall, and Tokunbo Afikuyomi for the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion.
