Dr Chioma assured the inductees that the lecturers under her leadership will give the best to them as they are all good products of the department and sister universities.
Adding that first impression matters. As such, one should not perceive any lecturer as an object of travesty in the classrooms by pressing their smartphones while the lectures go on as that would affect the level of seriousness and depth of knowledge to gain from the particular lecture.
She added, “My dear students, I know we are in the digital age, and it has its pros and cons, depending on how you approach it. But do not let the addiction take you off your school engagement”.
Highlights of the event include the presentation of gifts by the guests, cash gift by the Students’ Union Government Public Relations Office of the university, free ticket pledge to the debaters by the President of the Faculty of the department, debate presentation by the inductees, cultural dance, hip-hop dance, rap, and photo-taking sessions which brought the crescendo of the event to a gradual halt.
