Music streaming giant Spotify announced on Monday that it paid out more than $100 million to podcast creators worldwide in the first quarter of 2025 — the first time the company has disclosed such figures.

In a statement, Spotify said the payouts include ad revenue and earnings from its new Partner Program, launched earlier this year to help creators monetise their content.

The company, which first expanded into podcasting in 2015 and acquired Gimlet Media in 2019, said the move highlights its growing commitment to the creator economy.

Spotify reported €15.7 billion ($17.9 billion) in revenue in 2024 and is set to release its first-quarter earnings on Tuesday after posting its first-ever annual net profit of €1.1 billion last year.
