Soludo Hails Rotary International, Urges Greater Commitment to Humanitarian Services

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has commended Rotary International for its continued support to humanity, urging the organization to intensify its charitable efforts in the areas of health, education, flood and disaster management, as well as other aspects of human development.
Governor Soludo who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, made the remarks at the 2025 District Conference of Rotary International held in Awka, an event that attracted members from the five states of the South-East geopolitical zone, as well as Akwa Ibom and Cross River States.
The Governor applauded Rotary’s humanitarian initiatives and encouraged former leaders of the club to collaborate with current executives to drive the organization forward.
Delivering a lecture on infertility during the event, the immediate past Acting Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Joseph Ikechebelu identified some causes of infertility to include stress, anxiety, marital discord, and abortion, recommending medical check-ups and treatment for manageable fertility issues, and advised couples facing more severe challenges to consider “In Vitro Fertilization”, (IVF).
In his remarks, the District Governor of Rotary International District 9142, Professor A U Nnonyelu, appreciated members for their individual and collective contributions to the progress of the club, and expressed satisfaction that under his leadership, the district has recorded notable achievements in health, education, and other humanitarian interventions.
