SEEAT Endorses President Tinubu, Advocates for Continuity in 2027

The South East Elders Alliance for Tinubu (SEEAT), led by Hon. Engr. Humphrey C. Nsofor, FNSE, FNICE, has reaffirmed its support for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The group outlined reasons for advocating his re-election in 2027 during a press conference held at Jesse Hotels and Suites, Awka, Anambra State, on Thursday, March 20, 2025.

The event, which brought together members from the five South-East states, featured speeches from various elders. These speeches highlighted the impact of President Tinubu’s administration, particularly in the South-East region, forming the basis for their unwavering support.
In his address, Hon. Engr. Humphrey Nsofor, SEEAT’s coordinator, emphasized that extensive consultations on the political development of Ndigbo revealed significant positive changes under Tinubu’s leadership. Consequently, SEEAT has resolved to align itself with President Tinubu’s vision without distractions.

“He appointed our people to key positions, including the Armed Forces Ruling Council, Chief of Naval Staff, Head of Correctional Services, and the South East Development Commission. The plan to field two Muslim candidates in the last election was intended to marginalize us, but God turned it in our favor. Tinubu has dismantled the exclusive system that allowed some to claim supremacy. Today, every Nigerian has equal opportunities,” Nsofor stated.
Addressing insecurity, Nsofor noted that President Tinubu has demonstrated that the nation’s security challenges can be effectively managed. He also highlighted gradual improvements in the economy.
Reaffirming SEEAT’s support, Nsofor declared, “If those who have harmed the nation served two terms, why shouldn’t President Tinubu, who is performing well, be re-elected? SEEAT will mobilize elders from the South-South, South-West, Middle Belt, and other progressive regions to ensure his return in 2027.”

Hon. Nsofor listed ten key achievements of President Tinubu’s administration that resonate with the South-East:
- Establishment of the South East Development Commission.
- Launch of the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative.
- Ongoing major infrastructure projects.
- Empowerment of digital and creative enterprises.
- Livelihood support and nano-grants.
- Signing of the National Minimum Wage Law.
- Introduction of student loans and educational support.
- Increased oil production and foreign direct investments.
- A vision for a united and prosperous Nigeria.
- Investment in the future of the South-East.
Chief Innocent Obi, SEEAT’s Chairman, reflected on the South-East’s long-standing support for Tinubu, dating back to 2005. “Our support for Tinubu is a continuation of the love and belief South-Easterners have for this illustrious son of Nigeria, an indefatigable and visionary leader,” he remarked.
Nze Dr. Okoye Amaechi Sadik, SEEAT’s Director of Media and Strategic Communication, condemned the smear campaigns against Tinubu, attributing them to detractors resistant to change. He praised Tinubu’s policies for curbing insecurity, enabling Igbo traders to travel safely for business.
Chief Nicholas Osuakwu from Imo State, a member of SEEAT’s Board of Trustees, lauded Tinubu’s bold economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies. “The economy is improving, and I believe Nigeria will soon regain its past glory,” he said.
Hon. Chief Mrs. Obioma, the State Woman Leader of the Anambra Elders Forum, commended Tinubu’s gender-inclusive leadership, noting that many women have benefited from his appointments. “His respect for women has earned my admiration, and I believe more women will be appointed to key positions,” she affirmed.
Chief Sir Chris Chikwelu, a senior research fellow at the Center for Innovations, Ethics, and Development, praised Tinubu for granting autonomy to local governments. He urged Anambra residents to hold their local government leaders accountable for the funds allocated to them.
The press conference concluded with a unified commitment from SEEAT’s representatives across the five South-East states to support Tinubu’s r
