School leaver jailed 1 month for stealing N3m agro-chemical products

An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Wednesday sentenced a secondary school leaver, Chika Agu, 21, to one month imprisonment for stealing agro-chemical products worth N3,104, 950.
The Magistrate, Mrs Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti, sentenced Agu to Agodi correctional facility or serve one month community service.
According to her, the community service will be at least for five hours per a day, for one month.
Amole-Ajimoti ruled that Agu was found guilty as charged with the first count of theft.
The police had charged Agu with theft and fraudulent conversion.
The Prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan told the court that the convict committed the crime between 2018 and 2020, at Collins Group Ltd, Ibadan.
Amusan said the money was proceeds from the sales of agro-chemical products belonging to one Vincent Okoli.
He said the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000. (NAN)
