Rev. Uche Ibeabuchi and Speaker, Uche Okafor
Rev. Uche Ibeabuchi, Commissioner representing Anambra State at the Federal Character Commission (FCC), on Thursday promised to secure the quota of the state and ensure effective representation.
Ibeabuchi made the promised during a visit to the office of the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Mr Uche Okafor, in Awka.
Ibeabuchi said: “I’m here today to solicit the support of the legislature, who are the representatives of the constituents. With your support I know I have nothing to fear in the discharge of my duties.
“I promise to ensure effective representation and secure the quota or the share of our state at the Federal Character Commission. Never will our share at the federal level be lost again.”
Responding, the Speaker of the House, Okafor congratulated Ibeabuchi for his new appointment at the FCC.
“On behalf of the seventh Assembly, be rest assured that you have our support to make your tenure as a Commissioner successful.
“I will also advice you to recognise that Anambra state has talented and aspiring youths. Please ensure you use your office to make our youths gainfully employed and resourceful at the federal level.
“You are representing the state in its entirety, therefore, ensure that the state’s quota is equitably alloted for the interest of our people without fear or favour, “he said.
