President Bola Tinubu has officially signed into law a bill that significantly raises the salaries and allowances of judicial officials by 300%. This development was confirmed in a statement released on Tuesday by Basheer Lado, the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters.

According to Lado, this decision highlights President Tinubu’s commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerian workers, particularly those in critical sectors such as the judiciary. He emphasized that the President’s action demonstrates a prioritization of workers’ welfare, similar to his recent approval of the new National Minimum Wage Bill, which set the minimum wage at ₦70,000.

“The President’s assent to this bill underscores his dedication to the well-being of Nigerian workers, particularly those in strategic positions. This move is not just about increasing salaries; it reflects a broader commitment to ensuring that every Nigerian worker is fairly compensated for their efforts,” Lado stated.

He noted that by focusing on the financial well-being of judicial officers, the president is reinforcing the integrity of Nigeria’s justice system and setting a new standard for leadership that values the contributions of all workers.
