Ozigbo in Ghana, Seeks Synergy between Igbo Home and Abroad

By Jude Atupulazi
Globally celebrated business mogul, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, on Friday, June 28, in Accra, Ghana, called for a reconnection between Igbos at home and in diaspora in order to rebuild the future and change the conversation.
‘This is not just about winning an election, it’s about reconnecting our people to their heritage, redefining leadership for our times, rebuilding our collective future and changing our narrative for good,’ Ozigbo stated.
Ozigbo highlighted several pillars of his campaign, which included youth empowerment, innovation, cultural preservation, and the forging of strategic partnerships with the global Igbo diaspora.
This was even as he addressed what he described as the unique challenges facing Igbos outside Nigeria, ranging from identity erosion to lack of representation. He offered a message of hope and transformation.
The event started with Ozigbo paying a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr. Amb. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, the Eze Igbo Ghana, at the royal palace in Accra.
Attended by respected Igbo elders and leaders of the Ghanaian diaspora community, Ozigbo said the visit signalled more than a political stopover but a bridge between homeland and diaspora, past and future.
Ozigbo, whose message fused cultural pride with a bold political vision for Anambra and beyond, was warmly received by the royal household and the larger Igbo community.
‘My vision is global, but we must start from home and with our own people,’ Ozigbo, apolitical leader, stated.
The meeting was concluded with royal blessings and communal prayers led by Eze Ihenetu, who lauded Ozigbo for his humility and vision. The Eze called on the Igbo Community in Ghana and across the world to remain united in their support for leaders who understood the value of cultural dignity, inclusive governance, and visionary development.
‘We bless you with wisdom, with strength, and with favour. May your leadership journey bring pride to the Igbo nation and progress to our homeland,’ Eze Ihenetu prayed.
Other royal fathers who were there to welcome Ozigbo in Accra included His Royal Highness Eze Samuel Ekezie (Eze Udo of Sempe); His Royal Highness Eze Chuma Raymond (Eze Udo of Adotema); His Royal Highness Eze Tony Ulasi (Eze Udo of Dome Kwabinya Pukusi Ridge); His Royal Highness Eze Igwe Kingsley Chinedu (Eze Igbo Central Region); His Royal Highness Eze Abuchi Oha (Eze Udo Kasoa); His Royal Highness Eze Kingsley Ebo (Eze Udo Ashiama).
