One Year After Closure, First flight Lands At Akanu Ibiam Airport

The first flight, 5N-PAZ on Saturday, landed at the renovated and expanded runway of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

The flight which landed at about 4:45pm, had the Honorable Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, and renowned philanthropist and business man, Prince Engr. Arthur Eze and their entourage as its passengers.

The airport which is being reopened for use on the 30th of August, 2020 had been shut down for renovation for over one year now.

Addressing newsmen at the airport terminal on Saturday, the Honorable Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, said that the date set for reopening of the newly renovated runway remains sacrosanct.

Recall that the Minister had been in Enugu for the past few day, in readiness for the official reopening of the airport on Sunday August 30.
