The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has expressed concern over a brewing leadership crisis at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba, following the continued appointment of Dr. Olugbenga Owoeye as Acting Medical Director despite his expired tenure.

Lagos NMA Chairman, Dr. Babajide Saheed, warned the hospital risks administrative collapse and urged the Federal Ministry of Health to reverse the decision and appoint the next most senior officer, in line with public service rules.

The NMA called for a transparent, merit-based selection process and warned against actions that undermine institutional integrity and patient care.
