Nigerian British University Ready For Take-Off after Licence From NUC

The Nigerian British University is set to resume full academic activities after it was awarded license to operate as a private university in the country.

The license was awarded to the baby institution at the National Universities Commission (NUC), Abuja on Thursday May 12, 2022.

The university which will take off with 2 Faculties comprising 11 Programmes had sought the license for the past six years before its breakthrough in May, 2022.

Expressing her excitement at finally being empowered to operate, Chairman of the University’s Planning & Implementation Committee and Member of its Board of Trustees (BOT), Prof. Chinyere Stella Okunna said the institution has made every arrangement to start operation as a standard institution.

She said, “NBU is ready for take-off as an institution that will undoubtedly and absolutely revolutionalize university education in Nigeria.

“My heart is immensely gladdened that the years of hard work and unquantifiable amount of resources put into the actualization of this Dream, have ended in PRAISE.”

She however congratulated the Promoter and Chairman Board of Trustees (BOT), Engr Dr Emeka Umeoji “in particular, who has given this Project his best shot, and his best has been good enough.”

She also praised the Financiers, the Board of Trrustees (BOT) as well as the Planning & Implementation Committee whose efforts, she said, contributed to the birth of the institution.
