Nigeria Ranks 7th Friendliest Country to Strangers — UN Report

Nigeria has been ranked 7th among the world’s friendliest countries to strangers in the 2025 UN World Happiness Report.
Despite low overall happiness (105th), the report highlights Nigeria’s strong culture of spontaneous kindness and direct support, often compensating for weak institutional trust.
For instance, Nigerians ranked 33rd for returning a lost wallet to a stranger, but 126th if found by the police. Similar trends were seen in countries like Kenya, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
