The Anambra Patriots for Soludo, a political support group, have officially launched their grassroot campaign to re-elect Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, with a clear target of mobilizing one million votes ahead of the November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election.
The campaign kick-off took place at Government House Perm-Site Market in Ukwuorji, Awka, where customized branded aprons were distributed to market women, a gesture symbolizing deep community engagement and support for the governor developmental strides.
Leading the event, Convener of the group and Managing Director of Anambra State Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Architect Okey Ezeobi, said the campaign falls under the broader “Rebrand Anambra with Soludo” initiative. According to him, Governor Soludo has redefined governance in the state by delivering results in areas many thought were impossible.

“Governor Soludo is not just a performer; he is a transformational leader. From infrastructure to security, he has raised the bar of governance. The markets are safer, roads are better and businesses are growing. That is why we are targeting one million votes to return him to office,” Ezeobi stated.
He pointed to improved security and the revitalization of nightlife in Awka as key indicators of progress, citing the effectiveness of the newly launched Agunechemba security outfit and stronger military presence across the state.
In his remarks, Chairman of the group, Chief Ejiamatu Damian Enekwechi said the focus on market women was strategic. “Women are the backbone of voting in Nigeria and they are most consistent. The aprons we are giving out are functional, they help their business while promoting the governor,” he said, promising that every trader in the state would receive one.
In her message message of support for Governor Soludo, the Managing Director of the Anambra Medical Oxygen Production Plant Mrs. Nwamaka Arinze, said she joined the group to help amplify the governor achievements. She emphasized improved access roads for farmers, better healthcare and a renewed sense of pride among residents.
“This is no longer a state people leave. People are now coming back home. Soludo has made Anambra a destination,” she said, while also encouraging traders to maintain cleanliness and protect public infrastructure.
The gesture was met with excitement by the traders who praised the governor performance. “Soludo is doing well. The apron is not just beautiful, it is useful,” said Maria Rapuruchukwu, a plantain vendor. “I feel good receiving it and I will be voting for him.”
Other beneficiaries, including Mrs. Ifeoma Ofodile and Mrs. Evelyn Onyema, described the gesture as thoughtful and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the governor re-election. “We used to struggle with bad roads, but now cars can drive in and buy our goods. We are seeing the difference,” said fruit seller Emengi Helen.
As the campaign moves into full swing, the Anambra Patriots for Soludo say their next phase involves full market saturation with campaign materials and a continuous community engagement drive ensuring that the “Solution” message reaches every corner of the state.
