Management Denies shooting in FedPoly Oko

The management of the Federal polytechnic Oko has denied the insinuations that the shooting incidence which happened on Thursday night took place at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko.
There was a deadly shooting on Thursday night, June 19 along Tipper junction at Oko wherein some persons were feared kidnapped and some others injured.
According to a press statement made available to journalists by the Public Relation officer of the institution, Mr Chijioke Ibeziako, the
shooting incident occurred within Oko Community and not in Federal Polytechnic Oko.
He further said that “Federal Polytechnic Oko is calm and peaceful with academic activities going on without any interruption while police investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The statement reads: “Attention of the Management of Federal Polytechnic Oko has been drawn to the disturbing trending video in the social media space in which some people were shot on the night of 19th June in Oko. There has been inaccurate insinuations that this shooting incidence happened in Federal Polytechnic Oko.
Following this development, the Management hereby wishes to clarify matters and disabuse the mind of the public by stating as follows:
1) The shooting incident occurred within Oko Community and not in Federal Polytechnic Oko
2) The Nigerian police has waded into the matter to unravel the circumstances surrounding the shooting
3) Investigation will reveal identity of those involved
- Federal Polytechnic Oko is calm and peaceful with academic activities going on without any interruption. Staff and students are therefore advised to go about their normal activities as security has been beefed up.
5) The public is urged to be calm and refrain from making inflammatory statements that can cause panic or jeopardize investigations into the matter but cooperate with the police for a fruitful investigation”
