Kogi Jailbreak: FG Orders Immediate Investigation

The Federal Government has ordered an immediate probe into the jailbreak at Koton Karfe Custodial Centre in Kogi State.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, directed the Acting Comptroller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, to visit the facility and conduct a comprehensive audit to determine the cause of the escape.
In a statement by his media adviser, Babatunde Alao, Tunji-Ojo assured that all fleeing inmates would be recaptured using biometric and technological tracking systems.
Meanwhile, Kogi State Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, described the incident as “unfortunate” and confirmed that security agencies have already rearrested one escapee. He urged the public to report any suspicious individuals and warned against aiding fugitives.
Governor Usman Ododo has also directed security agencies to reinforce measures to prevent future breaches.
