IPOB Warns Traditional Rulers Against Alleged Deals with Terrorists

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has strongly condemned traditional leaders in the Southeast who are allegedly accepting money from terrorists disguised as herdsmen and allowing them to operate within their communities.
In a statement released on Thursday by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, the group warned that traditional rulers who engage in such activities could face severe consequences. “IPOB-ESN operatives are sending a clear message to compromised traditional rulers across Biafraland. Their actions, if not stopped, will lead to serious repercussions. IPOB-ESN does not tolerate the presence of Fulani terrorists masquerading as herdsmen in our land,” the statement read.
The group further directed that no traditional ruler or community leader in Alaigbo should collaborate with these herdsmen, who have been linked to crimes such as rape, kidnapping, and murder. IPOB-ESN also claimed that some of these herdsmen have admitted to paying local leaders for access to communities, where they remain for extended periods.
“Any traditional ruler or community leader involved in such criminal activities will not be spared. We are aware that some state governors are also implicated in these deals, but IPOB-ESN will not allow them to succeed,” the statement continued.IPOB expressed disbelief that traditional leaders would undermine efforts to keep their land safe and warned that those who oppose IPOB-ESN’s security efforts would be seen as sabotaging the group’s mission to restore Biafra.
The group urged any traditional rulers who have made deals to allocate land for Fulani settlements to reconsider their actions, stating that IPOB-ESN would now be closely monitoring all traditional leaders in Biafraland.
