Governor Adeleke Visits Crisis-Hit Communities, Promises Investigation

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke visited Ido-Ayegunle and Esa-Oke following a deadly communal clash over a chieftaincy dispute that left four dead and several injured. He assured residents of a panel of inquiry to investigate the crisis and vowed that culprits would face justice. The dispute stemmed from the state’s appointment of Prince Timileyin Oluyemi Ajayi as the Olojudo of Ido-Ayegunle, which triggered violent opposition. Adeleke urged peace, warning that continued violence could disrupt local economic activities. The government reaffirmed that Ido-Ayegunle falls under the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland’s authority, not Esa-Oke’s.
