Fire Outbreak: State Fire Service Director Sensitizes Traders On The Prevention

The Director, Anambra State Fire Service Engr.Chiketa Chukwudi Emmanuel on 23rd Nov. sensitized the traders of Old Motor Car Parts Dealers Association, Mgbuka Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State on the tips to control and prevent fire Outbreak in our various homes and shops.
He noted that the usage of fire is top notch both for cooking and other vital roles stating that if not controlled, it is devastating, disclosed that it is the reason they visit Markets, Banks, Schools, Companies etc sensitizing the general public.
Speaking shortly after the market weekly prayer at the market, Chiketa before highlighting the tips, warned that “Everyone should be very careful in what we are doing these days because of the festive season which is around the corner to avoid fire outbreak.
On the tips he said “We should always off all our electrical appliances: Fans, Air condition etc in ours homes, shops, whenever we are leaving the house, likewise our shops, it is important to avoid had I known, because prevention is better than cure, we are in a harmattan season, Christmas season.
“To check every wire in our homes, shops now and then, to check if it is melting. Thirdly, do not overload the switches by using a switch for both fridge, fan, air condition, etc.
“We must have fire extinguisher in our homes, shops” he stated.
Engr Chiketa also disclosed that the State House of Assembly has recently mandated every building to have overhead tank and fire extinguisher to avoid fire outbreak, he said.
In his words, the Chairman of the market, Chief Samuel Ifurunwa appreciated
Governor Charles Soludo for his tremendous efforts and developmental strides in the State.
He lauded the Governor whom he said that approves the sensitization tour of the fire service men to all the markets in the state to avoid fire outbreak.
Ifurunwa reiterated that Governor Soludo’s governance is top notch, noting that the state has turned around for good.
He advised the traders to adhere to all the teachings and instructions learnt, noting that it is a useful take home instructions.
