FG to Establish Youth Bank to Support Entrepreneurship and Job Creation

The Federal Government has unveiled plans to establish a youth bank designed to provide loans, grants, and other financial products to assist young entrepreneurs, promote innovation, and tackle unemployment. Announced by the Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Ayodele Olawande, the initiative is part of a broader effort to address unemployment through a Nigerian Youth Employment Action Plan. The youth bank will support youth-led businesses, offer education and training, and create job opportunities. Additionally, Olawande introduced the Youth Activities Dashboard, a platform to showcase over 7,000 youth programs across various government agencies. He also discussed a student loan scheme aimed at poverty reduction and emphasized the importance of education in addressing societal challenges. Furthermore, Olawande revealed that the government had lifted the ban on posting National Youth Service Corps members to private sector organizations.
