The Leadership of Onitsha drugs market otherwise known as Ogbogwu head bridge market Onitsha Anambra state has strongly dismisses as false, malicious, wicked, misleading, and cheap blackmail an allegation been peddled in the market by some misguided and misinformed traders of the market stating that the leadership of market connived with NAFDAC to fleece traders of the market huge sum of money as well as also aid sales of banned hard drugs like Tramadol in the market.
Making this denial during a press briefing organized by the leadership of market held at the market union office inside the market yesterday, Mr. Ndubuisi Chukwuleta the chairman of the market flanked by fifteen members of the executives of the market which included Mr. Emmanuel Uche Uba, Mr. Emeka Nwogu, Chief Ernest Nwafor, Chibuzor Anozie, PRO among others noted that the peddlers of the False allegations were being sponsored by six members of the market caretaker committee suspended by the Anambra state government for misconduct and engaging in activities which are against efforts to sanitize the market of fake and unwholesome drugs.
While vehemently refuting what he called cheap blackmail and mischief which accused his leadership of protecting NAFDAC interest instead of traders, he stated that the allegations are mere blackmail and full of deceit stressing that these allegations are targeted to smear his hard earned good image as well as reputation of the leadership of the market who he said has done much to ensure that the market is sanitized of fake and adulterated drugs.
Said Mr. Chukwuleta, “I and my executive know the people behind these false allegations which are handwork of six suspended members of our leadership, they are doing this because they are not comfortable with our style and immense success we are recording everyday, we have done a lot of developmental infrastructures in the market, our zero tolerance to people selling fake, banned, adulterated as well as hard drugs has being recording tremendous success as we have being confiscating hard, fake and adulterated drugs worth millions and handing it over to NAFDAC, let me assures that we will continue being focused, nobody can distract us, we will continue working to ensure that our market remained the best. We will continue collaborating with NAFDAC to ensure that fake and adulterated drugs are flush out in the market”
.Speaking also, Mr. Chibuzo Anozie the public relation officer of the market while speaking on behalf of the executives, commended the chairman of the market Mr. Ndubuisi Chukwuleta for his doggedness steadfastness as well as transparency in handling of issues that concern the market adding that his performances has lifted the status of the market to be one of the best in Nigeria drug business.
