The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has announced the resumption of publishing key economic reports, a move aimed at boosting transparency and accountability in the nation’s economy.

The reports, including the influential Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), Business Expectation Survey (BES), and Inflation Expectation Report, will provide stakeholders with up-to-date data on the country’s economic performance. According to a statement by the CBN’s Acting Director of Corporate Communications, Hakama Ali, the decision to reintroduce these reports is part of the bank’s broader initiative to enhance data accessibility and promote informed decision-making.

The PMI, which gauges the health of the manufacturing, services, and agricultural sectors, is expected to be a crucial tool for businesses and investors seeking to understand the overall economic climate. Meanwhile, the business and household expectations reports will offer insights into consumer and business sentiment.
