APLSCD FECILITATES WITH BISHOP EZEOKAFOR ON HIS PASTORAL VISIT TO MADONNA CATHOLIC CHURCH AGULU

The Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder, has expressed her profound gratitude to the chief shepherd of Awka diocese, Most Rev Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor, on his pastoral visit to Madonna Catholic Church Agulu, on the 6th of December. The pastoral visit is geared toward strengthening the spiritual foundation of faithfuls, in respect to Jesus Christ’s command to St Peter to feed the flock.
The National Coordinator of the association, Mrs Aisha Edward Maduagwu, who was accompanied by her members to the church service in order to solidify their presence in the parish which now serves as their chaplaincy for Awka catholic diocese.
Recall that Bishop Ezeokafor in November appointed the parish priest, Rev Fr Dr Joel Okechukwu, as the chaplain of the association, an action that underscores the importance of the spiritual need of persons living with sickle cell disease.
The association is full of thanksgiving to God as they wrap up the year 2020. This year is filled with testimonies especially in the corners of sickle cell eradication and economic support for patients.
Bishop Ezeokafor was instrumental in the accent of the Sickle Cell Law by Governor Willie Obiano, and as such deserves a revered place in history.

The pastoral visit witnessed some faithfuls being administered with the sacrament of confirmation.
Agulu indigenous priests who were present at the occasion includes, Fr. Cosmas Ebebe, a director of the association and Rev.Fr. Prof. Boniface Obiefuna among others.
