ANAMBRA NULGE GETS NEW ACTING PRESIDENT

Comrade Nicolas Aromeh has assumed office as the Acting President of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees ( NULGE), Anambra State Chapter, following a letter duly signed and issued to that effect yesterday from the National Secretariat of the Union in Abuja.
The New Acting President of NULGE, Anambra State, Comrade Aromeh ,who was speaking today during press briefing organized in the Anambra State Secretariat of the Union in Awka, emphasized that the letter from the National body of the Union empowered him to assume office on acting capacity ,pending when the current crisis rocking the Anambra State Chapter of the Union is resolved amicablly in accordance with the constitution of the Union.
He described the action displayed yesterday by some bad elements in the Union who came to possess the State Secretariat of the Union in Awka as not only criminal,but mischief by miscreants and questioned the backgrounds upon which they were coming from.
He stated that those who masterminded the melodrama that occured at the State Secretariat of the Union in Awka did not obtain any form nor contested for the Union election, held in Anambra State on December 17th,2023 and argued how could one come in from nowhere to say that Mr.”A” has left as the President of the Union and that he Mr “B” is coming in as the President of the Union now.
Comrade Aromeh ,affirmed that the constitution of NULGE and every other constitutions cut across the global stated it very clearly that if Mr. President is not there his Vice should step in immediately, adding that,that was what happened yesterday, hence his assumption of office as the Acting President of the Union in Anambra, assuring the people that the participants sitting in the event held in the Anambra State Secretariat of the Union both at the back and in front seats were duly elected officers of the Union, drawn from the twenty- one Local Government Areas of the State.


“So the people that came yesterday, saying that they have come to take the possession of NULGE Secretariat are from where, where are their backgrounds, where are they coming from”he questioned.
When asked whether the incident that occured yesterday at the State Secretariat of the Union in Awka had factionalized the Union in Anambra State, the Acting President, said that one thing was that, NULGE has no faction in Anambra State, pointing out that NULGE is NULGE in Nigeria and told the people without any iota of equivocation that they have only one NULGE in Nigeria today.
He opined that the Union has only one National Secretariat in Nigeria situated at Abuja, one NULGE in each of the 36 States of the Country, stressing that there was no State in Nigeria that has two NULGE Secretariats nor two Secretaries, explaining further that Mr A C.Okoro was the only NULGE Secretary of the Union in Anambra State sent from Abuja by the National body of the Union as their eyes in Anambra State.
“So,NULGE is not two, One National President at the center and at the State Leve l,One President ,One Secretary from Abuja “he added.
The Acting President,who spoke among other things,said that his appointment as the Acting President of the Union in Anambra State was in line with the constitution of the Union, recalling that his boss, Comrade Chikwelu Adigwe, emerged President of the Union in the State by winning those contested with him in the election conducted by the Union in December, 2023 with very big margin while he (Comrade Aromme), won his 3 opponents in the same election and emerge as the Vice President of the Union as well by Grace of God.
Reacting on the issues of employment racketeering, ghost workers and even the accusation level against the Anambra State Chairman of Local Government Service Commission ,Barr. Vincent Ezeaka on embezzlement of 16.8 million naira which went viral in the social media alleged to have been emanated from the Union ,the Acting President and the participants in the event collectively described such allegation as false.
They even denied that the Union has no problem with the Commission as their employer and that they have no hand in sharing the 16.8 Million naira donated to the workers during the Commission’s week in the State by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
On his own part,the Secretary of the Union in Anambra State,Comrade Andrew Okoro, confirmed that an election was held on December ,2023 by the Union in Anambra State and somebody emerged winner, stating that in a situation where the President is stepped aside that his Vice should take over immediately.
He warned that the Union has a firm Office in Anambra State and overtly warned that it should be reserved by all in the Union, saying that the other faction of the Union through their llegalities and social media propaganda were bent towards cracking down the Union in Anambra State and advised the participants to remain calm as they go about their normal business without fear.
When contacted through telephone phone interview, the immediate past President of the Union in Anambra State, Comrade Chikwelu Adigwe,said that the Union has no issue in the State to settle ,even assuring that the new Acting President, Comrade Aromeh had his full support ,pending when the current crisis devastating the Union in Anambra State today is resolved.
