Anambra 2025: Oyi Elders Consultative Forum Endorses Governor Soludo

Oyi Elders Consultative Forum (OECF) on 30th April, endorsed Governor Charles Soludo for a second term, the endorsement was during the inauguration and opening of their office at OECF Office/Eke Igwe Market Nteje.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Host who is also a House Member representing Oyi Local Government in the State House of Assembly, Dr Sir C. Innocent Ojike stated”Something that is expected from these new inaugurated members which is their duty are unity, progress and success of the forum.

“On that note, it is a very serious engagement assignment that we all expect from them, we believe they would not disappoint”, he urged more people to join the forum, pledged his support and that of the chairman of the occasion whom he said cannot make it to the place because of some unforeseen circumstances.

The Patron of the forum and the Chairman Osisioma Foundation, Elder Dr.Chike Obidigbo while speaking with Newsmen disclosed, “The main idea of this forum is for endorsement of any particular individual.

“It is for us to have a collective discussion, we have endorsed Governor Charles Soludo for second term, if we say we have endorsed somebody, so be it, but it suppose to be a collective decision and whomever we give our support should come and see us.he would tell us what he would do for Ndi Oyi.

On Governor Charles Soludo’s fight on fake Native Doctors, he said that it is a wonderful development, saying that it is one of the greatest thing from the governor,”From there, crime is fought with just, with this, it would make our youths to be gainfully engaged”,he maintained.

Earlier in his address, the Chairman (OECF) Chief Chidiebere Obika stated that the forum which is a social political organization with the aim of galvanizing Ndi Oyi for the development of the area and betterment of their people came into being in 2023 at Osisioma Lodge, Umunya, added that all political parties are represented, APGA, APC, LP, YPP, PDP, ZLP and others

According to him,”the forum has succeeded in honouring a number of invitations including visit to sick members, paid congratulatory homage to Hon Emma Nweke,(the Oyi LG Mayor), Hon.Dr.Sir Innocent Chukwuemeka Ojike(House Member, representing Oyi constituency in the State House of Assembly and chieftaincy title conferment on our members”.Obika posited.

Contributing, the former Commissioner for Youths, Hon Mrs Chinwe Anowai said that the aim of the forum is to bring the elders together, bring advice and proffer solutions on different issues,”One thing we have as our stronghold, unity, oneness in purpose and the vision to move the people of Oyi forward”

On her advice to the youths, Hon Anowai maintained that the youths need value re orientation, noting “That our youths have been misdirected. We have to shape our values so that we place motives across bar, not issue of money but people having human hearts and again recognizing talents, have good ideas of talent God have given you and bring such gift to the limelight.

Those that contributed to the event were High Chief Elochukwu Gwacham, ( Ichie Ezeudo Ogbunike), Igweship aspirant, Chief Peter Emeneka, former Deputy chairman of Oyi

Others were the President Generals, PGs of the five Communities that made up of Oyi LG who are also members of OECF, Nklwelle Ezunaka, Umunya, Ogbunike, Nteje, Awkuzu, Ogbuefi Willie Okafor, High Chief Hon Chinedum Ekwugha, Chief Sam Tochukwu Obiakor, Dr Nnamdi Ilodiuba and Chief Ejike Ogoegbunam and among other dignitaries
