Anambra 2025: Onitsha South Mayor Meets With Stakeholders To Brainstorm On Governor Soludo Re Election

The Mayor of Onitsha South Local Government Area, Hon.Chief Emeka Orji has met with the party stakeholders of the area at the Council Secretariat to brainstorm on the re election of Governor Charles Soludo come November 8 gubernatorial election.

Speaking at the meeting, the Mayor stated that the reason for the meeting was to stay together as brothers, noting that he has been trying his best in his capacity to ensure the growth and the good of the party.

He recalled that Fegge was in a very big crisis before he came on board which he resolved, then come Woliwo with their crisis of over 20 years, likewise Housing Estate which he said they are now all peaceful, reiterated his resolve to ensure peace in Onitsha South.

According to Orji, “All the projects of Governor Soludo in this area are many, I’m pleading with the governor to construct Bida road after his reelection. Our fire service station at Silas Works road would soon be completed while another 3 of it would be at Bridgehead, Odoakpu and Ochanja.

He urged party members and the people of the area to take advantage of the on going free medical insurance scheme forms from the state government, for their access to medical attention in the designated hospitals.

On sanitation, the Mayor reiterated that sanitation and security have been his priorities in the area, warned those who dump refuse indiscriminately to desist from such, stated that the taskforce would arrest anybody even if underage so that when the parents come for them, he/she would be arrested to free the child.

He mentioned that clearing the drainages alone takes millions of naira, disclosed that 8 receptacles have been refurbished for easy collection of waste in Onitsha South Local Government.

The former Onitsha South APGA Chairman, Hon, Chief Mofus Ezeoha,a.k,a (Orimili Nando) recalled that Governor Charles Soludo has done many projects in the area, stated that the only way to thank him is to give him 100% of our votes.

In her contribution, the former House Member of Onitsha South Constituency, Hon Anthonia Tabansi, (Adadiogo) tasked the Councillors to stop relying on party’s money or stipends instead it is those that voted them in are the supposed people to be getting the money, stated the implications of turning their back on those that voted them into offices only to remember them again during another election.

The former Chairman Ohaneze Ndigbo Anambra State chapter, Chief Chukwuemekalum Udodeme reminded the Mayor of the need to be calling meetings because the election is fast approaching, tasked the stakeholders to go to their various wards to become stakeholders, mobilize voters for the coming election, said that “If you lose your ward, your stakeholdership has been dragged to the mud”, tasked the Mayor to garner votes for the Governor despite all odds, no matter what it takes.

The immediate Caretaker Committee Chairman of Onitsha South Local Government Area, Hon.Chief Emeka Asoanya (War Machine) disclosed that some of the ward chairmen don’t know anything about their position,”Let there be an interactive session where others would be taught what they should know and from there they learn.

He said that the success of a person needs a good successor, maintained that it is good for an APGA Chairman succeeding another APGA, that is leading continuously by APGA members.

Those who also contributed both with financial support at the meeting were the former TC Chairman of the area, Hon, Chief Alex Egbuna(Chukwue), Deputy, Onitsha South LG, Hon Onyebuchi Obi, one of the stakeholders of Woliwo community, Chief Linus Ezenkwu, (Nkwubuego), Chief Peter Madueke (Onye Nwaa) the chairman Fegge Landlord Association, Chief Okwudili Obinwune,(Spending), Chief Tony Ohamadike, Oham Motors

Others were the former Councillor Fegge 3, Hon. Tochukwu Umeobiaeri, CJ Ofonze, Barr Chidi Ekwealor, Deputy Chairman APGA Onitsha South LG, Hon Afam Udeogalanya, Legal Adviser of Onitsha South LG Barr Stanley Okafor, Secretary Onitsha South LG, Onitsha South LG Secretary, Paul Onuachalla Esq, Kenechukwu Oguejiofor Esq, The CEO Admin Oil and Gas, Chief Promise Egbeji, Ochanja Market Chairman, Chief Bonaventure Muo(B Moore), PG Housing Estate, Obiora Egbuna among others

All the attendees smiled home with cash after an entertainment which everyone testified that it has never happened in Onitsha South Local Government.
