Anambra 2025: Ogbaru Main Market Celebrates 40th Anniversary, Endorses Governor Soludo’s Re Election Bid

In their bid to support Governor Charles Soludo’s good governance and continuity, Ogbaru Main Market, on 2nd May, endorsed Governor Charles Soludo’s re-election bid.
The endorsement which took place at the market during the celebration of the markets 40th anniversary was presided by the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Tochukwu Udeze.
Speaking during the endorsement which was supported by a business mogul in the State, Chief Joseph Ukeji, popularly known as Ejison, the speaker said the job of building Anambra State is a collective responsibility.
He said the people of Anambra must determine what they want and who should rule them, saying that a lot of citizens have continued to endorse Governor Soludo for a second term including the traders of Ogbaru Main market, he thereby moved a motion for the endorsement for Prof Chukwuma Soludo ‘s Second term bid and the ayes carried it.
Earlier in his speech, Chief Ukeji who said that the day’s celebration programme had two purposes: the celebration of the market’s 40 years of existence and endorsement of Governor Soludo, maintained that Governor’s second term is automatic because of his achievements which speaks volumes.
Ukeje who said that he was impressed with the performance of Ogbaru Main Market Chairman, stated that Prof. Soludo surpassed all other Governors in the country because of security measures, he has brought down kidnapping and other violent crimes to the bearest minimum, stressed that he would fully complete his second four- year tenure.
He said among other accomplishments of Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu was his zero tolerance for adulteration of products in the market. The business tycoon noted that before the emergence of Ochiogu, the market was a haven for adulteration of products but they have all been flushed out, stated that he is impressed with what he is doing.
Counting his achievements, Ochiogu said that he has restored security in the market which was experiencing breaking of shops and carting away cash worth several millions of naira.
He said his administration has restored public light with the liquidation of over N11m owed Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) as well as installation of solar powered light.
Ochiogu also said the traders of the market have decided that Soludo should go back for second tenure given his performance in all sectors.
Others present at the occasion were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Market, Chief Evaristus Uba, President -General ASMATA, Chief Humphrey Anuna, President of Building Materials Market, Ogidi, Chief Jude Nwankwo, Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Chief Chinenye Ihenkor, popularly known as Okpompi, Chief Ben Uzuegbu, (SAN), Dr.Eze, Medical Director, Toronto Hospital, Chief Innocent Ezeoha, Chairman, Onitsha Main Market among other dignitaries.
