Aftermath of murder, burial of 3 siblings : parents hand over revenge to God, commend mourners

Parents of the three children allegedly killed and inserted into a refrigerator at their residence in Nnewi, Anambra State, Mr and Mrs Ejezie Udochukwu Samuel, have handed over revenge to God and paid glowing tribute to all those who grieved and mourned with them during this trial period.

The Ejezies who hail from Umuokwara, Umucheke, Umueze Uga community, Aguata Local Government Area, said, “We wish to express our profound gratitude to everyone for being with us in prayers, presence, and in spirit as we buried our three children who met their untimely death in the hands of yet to be identified assassins and we hand over to God the revenge.

According to father of the deceased siblings, “Specifically, our thanks goes to His Eminence, Peter Ebere Cardinal Okpalaeke, Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia, for officiating in the burial Mass. His Eminence, I considered your presence in the burial of our little Angels as an unmerited merit. Coming back from the morgue and seeing you standing in our compound, gave me utmost joy and consolation.

“Who am I that His Eminence should visit me unannounced? Thank you for coming. Our appreciation goes also to Rev. Fr. Monk Cyril Okechukwu Ejezie, from Holy Cross Monastery, Illah, Delta State, Rev. Fr. Elisius Chukwunonso Umeakuana, Ejezie’s son and other priests too numerous to mention, including Rev. Sisters.

“May the souls of Chikaima Daviana, Chimziterem Dominica, Chimdirim David and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in perfect peace, Amen.”

Recall that the siblings, Ejezie Chikaima Daviana, Female, aged 10, Ejezie Dominica Chimziterem, aged 8, and Ejezie Chimdirim David , male, aged 5, were buried in their Umueze Uga country home, Aguata Local Government Area, shortly after a preceded special mass service in their honour, conducted by the Cardinal.

Mourners and sympathisers turned up in their large number wailing, crying, placing curses on the assailants and praying God to fish out the culprits to face the wrath of the law to serve as a deterrent to would be future murderers even as they described the death of the siblings as the height of wickedness.

Cardinal Okpalaeke had in his homily at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Umueze Uga, said that the wicked would not go unpunished stating that the souls of the innocent siblings will not give the assailants peace and urged the bereaved parents, Mr and Mrs Samuel Ejezie, to take heart for God in His infinite mercy, will give them the heart with which to bear the irreparable loss.

The devastated parents, Mr. and Mrs. Udochukwu Ejezie, described the tragedy as their greatest nightmare and an unimaginable loss and expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support they received from the community.

In his own reaction, elder brother to the bereaved man, Evaristus Ejezie, who is the chairman of Iron Dealers Union, Nteje, described the death of the siblings as man’s inhumanity to man and prayed God to take control of the entire situation.
