ABU VC lauds TETFUND for construction of hostels in institution
The Vice Chancellor of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Prof. Kabiru Bala, has expressed gratitude to the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR) for the construction of a hostel at the Danfodio Students Hall of Residence in the institution.
This is contained in a statement issued by Malam Auwalu Umar, Director Public Affairs Division of ABU on Tuesday in Zaria.
The VC also commended the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for mobilising for the construction of another hostel at the Danfodio Hall of Residence following approval of the Ministerial Tenders Board.
Bala who gave the commendation when he visited the projects sites in Zaria, expressed confidence that the ASR Initiative Africa and TETfund will execute the hostel projects in earnest.
He also commended the Physical Planning and Municipal Services for sourcing workers to demolish the dilapidated old hostel at no cost to the university.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports hat the ASR, belonging to billionaire businessman and philanthropist, AbdulSamad Rabiu, donated N1 Billion to ABU for the construction of student hostels and department of building. (NAN)
