APC Imo-West Senatorial Ticket: Wike denies link to court judgement
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated his position on the recent Federal High Court Judgement which nullified the recognition of the current governor of imo state, Hope Uzodimma, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Imo West senatorial district in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during his ongoing media chat in Portharcourt, Rivers State, Wike dismissed his involvement in the court judgement, stating that those linking his name are only being mischievous. Though he admitted publicly disagreeing with the Governor of Imo, Hope Uzodinma, over his rainbow coalition initiative, he denied being in the know of ongoing internal political issues in the APC.
Further speaking on his rainbow coalition initiative, Wike posed a question to the Imo State Governor, asking, “What is Uzodimma afraid of?”
He said both priorities should be working to see the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027, adding that if there is an initiative to achieve that, “What then is the issue?” he asked.
