Anambra Assembly Inspects Ogbaru, Commends Infrastructure and Development Projects

Members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Noble Chukwunonso Igwe, have inspected development projects and administrative facilities at the Ogbaru Local Government Secretariat.
The inspection, which took place on Sept. 16, was part of the Assembly’s ongoing tour of local government areas across the state to assess infrastructure, administrative activities, development projects and the level of progress recorded by the various councils.
During the visit to Ogbaru, the lawmakers observed noticeable improvements in the infrastructure and general outlook of the council secretariat, compared with its condition about two years ago.
The legislators commended the Council Mayor, Hon. Chief Sir Kenneth Akwuobi, Okwuluora, for what they described as visible interventions in the area, particularly the transformation of the council secretariat and execution of various development projects.
Among the projects inspected were the complete furnishing and activation of the Legislative Building, reconstruction of the burnt traditional ruler’s palace and rehabilitation of the Agricultural and Environmental Building.
The council administration also reconstructed a burnt one-storey building into a two-storey administrative complex and initiated a N20 million grassroots development programme covering the 16 political wards in Ogbaru.
Responding, the Ogbaru Mayor expressed appreciation to the lawmakers for recognising the efforts of his administration, attributing the achievements to the support and developmental vision of the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
Akwuobi also commended the Governor for his developmental strides across the state and prayed for continued divine guidance, wisdom and good health for him.
The inspection provided the Assembly with an opportunity to assess and document ongoing projects and administrative interventions, while the developments recorded in Ogbaru highlighted the visible changes achieved during Akwuobi’s tenure.
