Ebola death toll passes 3,000 in DR Congo

More than 3,000 people have now died in the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to the latest official figures from the authorities in Kinshasa.

The epidemic, which has infected more than 6,000 and is the deadliest ever recorded in the country, was declared in mid-May in the conflict-hit east and northeast.
